This set of materials is an online companion to A Just Future. It provides supplemental data that help substantiate the main arguments of the book.
Appendix A:
US Higher Education Institutions
Appendix A features a table of the top 10 colleges and universities in the US and the dates they formally admitted women and African American students. It also includes a list of Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) and tribal colleges in the US.
Appendix C:
Scholars Programs at Historically White Colleges & Universities
Appendix C is a companion to Chapter 6 of A Just Future, and offers a survey of main features of scholars programs at the top 10 colleges and universities listed in Appendix A.
Appendix B:
Diversity in Higher Education
In Appendix B, you will find information related to the ongoing diversification of higher education, particularly among the undergraduate population. It also features data on the racial and ethnic composition of undergraduates and faculty in the US.
I hope these materials provide a dataset from which students, faculty, and administrators can draw as they advocate for equity efforts in their various institutions of higher education.
